This annual community-wide event is co-sponsored by Central Piedmont Virginia Master Naturalists, Bear Creek Lake State Park, and Virginia Cooperative Extension 4-H.

We’ll help you prepare for the upcoming spring season when Eastern Bluebirds stake-out their territories and choose a home to raise their young. All participants will receive a folder of information about bluebird habitat, attracting and keeping bluebirds, and how to maintain and predator-proof your bluebird house.

The bluebird house kits feature beautiful cedar and are ready to assemble, thanks to carpentry students at the Buckingham County Career and Technical Center. Some tools will be available, but feel free to bring your own screwdrivers. This is a great activity for the entire family; however, a parent or responsible adult must accompany children. A table of crayons and coloring images of bluebirds is provided for young children.

Pre-registration is required, as there are a limited number of kits available. A donation of $15 per kit is requested, payable during the workshop. To register or get more information, email A.B. Jefferson at abj.4birds@gmail.com.
