A somewhat more closed loblolly pine/sand heather woodland on the high dune along the eastern side of First Landing State Park, City of Virginia Beach.  Here the dune is stabilized by large patches of seaside little bluestem (Schizachyrium littorale) and yellow jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens) vines, and oaks are intermixed with the pines. © DCR-DNH, Gary P.
